Noob question : after buying shares in several companies Ive now received letters in the mail from Line Market Services, asking for my TFN and bank details etc. I purchased the shares through NABTRADE. Is there any requirement to fill these out or any benefits? Thanks
Ryan Parks: Dividends.
Kiara Rios: Yep voteing power and dividends
Kiara Rios: I make more loading share prices at moment by gaining dividends. But dont for get – tax.And make sure you vote when sent voting slips. You can see your shares some are with did places bank use.
Josie Montgomery: Ill send you my details to put on the form, use your tax number and my bank deets
Aubree Phillips: Does this apply through Chess also?
Edward Lucas: If you dont fill them out you wont receive dividend and ATO wont trace your trades, which means more paperwork for you at tax time.
Julia Hopkins: Dividends would still be sent by cheque(or at least used to). TFN withholding tax would apply to unfranked dividends if TFN is not provided ..
Kiara Rios: Asx.com.au
Aubree Phillips: Thank you.
Julia Hopkins: Up to you ..Dividends would still be sent by cheque (or at least used to) if direct credit form not filled in (unless Coys have stopped sending cheques?). TFN withholding tax would apply to unfranked dividends if TFN is not provided …..Hope this helps…
Spencer Manning: They still send the dividends out by mail I forgot to update one of mine when I switched brokers
Owen Barrett: What if you have a cdia account ? Isnt that enough
