In reading all these posts I have to ask……what brings you back to a restaurant? What turns you off? I have to say we do eat out a LOT and although I was a hostess I never waitressed. Anyone can see its a TOUGH hard job and you have to have consideration for the situation. We give a restaurant 3 strikes. If I have 3 bad experiences then I know its a fail and Im off to spend my money elsewhere. We also take into consideration that if its Friday night or Sunday morning, I EXPECT to wait. Restaurants cant create additional seating if they are full and if you see an empty table it doesnt mean a waitress is available to take on more customers. BE KIND, it gets you so much further. If your food is wrong, tell them nicely-dont get angry (mistakes happen). Dont expect a restaurant to give you a free meal because you didnt get your toast or side dish on time. Again, mistakes happen. They will fix the situation and if they dont, try the 3 strike rule. Management is the key to a good restaurant, not just the food or prices. Im just curious what everyone else expects and how they determine if they will go back. 1 strike, 2, 3??? One bad experience and they are done? Maybe Im just a softy but I feel like one visit doesnt give you the total picture unless the infraction is so aweful you cant get past it. Happy Sunday Folks and happy eating 🙂

Teagan Morgan: If you have a bad experiance tell the manager and give them a chance to fix the problem.

Peter Gordon: I agree Ed Engelman., you have to give them a chance to make it right. Again, mistakes happen and yes sometimes there is that one bad employee or two but dont let it relect on the entire staff.

Josie Hall: I usually give at least 2 chances. Just in case it is one bad employee. Im more of a critic when it comes to the actual food. I have my favorites and ones I dont quite care for as much. Just as I am sure we all do.

Peter Gordon: True mark I think we are being kind with the 3 strike rule as usually our heart tells us no but we try again

Esther Flores: AN ADD ON. PLEASE DONT TAKE IT OUT ON THE WAITRESS IF YOUR ORDER IS WRONG. SHE DID NOT PREPARE IT. I ONCE GOT MY COLE SLAW WITH A HAIR IN IT. I CALLED THE WAITRESS OVER AND SIMPLY SAID, SORRY BUT I ORDERED MINE WITHOUT THE HAIR AND DONT WANT MORE THAN I ORDERED. SHE JUST LOOKED WITH A GRIN AND CORRECTED IT. THE REST OF THE MEAL WENT TERRIFIC..

Peter Gordon: Yes Diane ! You get further with humour or kindness or both!

Esther Flores: ON THE OTHER HAND, I WORKED AT PIZZA HUT. PIZZA MAKERS MISSED ONE OF THE PIZZAS ON THE ORDER, LOTS OF FOLKS ON ONE BILL. I SIMPLE SAID, TO THE OLDER MAN IT WAS FOR, YOURS WILL BE HERE SHORTLY, WE SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST. HE BEAMED. SIMPLE THINGS MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE., OR CHECK THE OLDER FOLKS WHO ORDER BEER FOR THEIR I.D. FOR PROOF OF AGE. THEY LOVE THE KIND OF STUFF.

Alejandro Ramirez: Diane please take your Caps lock key off. We do not like to be yelled at on here..lol 🙂

Peter Gordon: Ha ha ha love it

Teagan Morgan: Matt thats the way Diane posts. Always.

Alejandro Ramirez: She scares me now.

Teagan Morgan: Shes okay.

Peter Gordon: Ha ha you guys are funny

Tyler Butler: I am that kind of waitress.. Im sarcastic and goofy but if I screw up I will totally tell you that I did.. I hope people will tell me when something is wrong I would love to fix the problem. And as a manager as well I would love to fix the problem. Im yelled at by people every Friday night. Many many many times its people saying how awful their food was and they are not paying for it. I ask a few questions and generally it turns out that they are bad customers and as someone once told me its not always a bad thing to fire the customer. I REFUSE to refund someone for food they ate all of, never said a word to their server yet want it off their bill. Nope. Sorry you are FIRED.Lol

Esther Flores: MATT, I ALWAYS HAVE TYPED IN ALL CAPS. IT IS EASIER FOR ME TO READ ETC. SORRY IF IT OFFENDS YOU OR ANYONE. I AM NOT MAD AT ANYONE ON HERE AT LEAST. I WILL CONTINUE TO ENJOY ALL THE POSTS AND AM PLANNING ON CHECKING OUT A COUPLE OF THE NEW ONES. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Isaac Curtis: Honestly – good food and reasonable prices make me return. I like a waiter/waitress that comes back during the meal once to check on us to see if we are doing okay and everything is fine. Then notices we are done eating and asks us if we would like to order dessert or a drink, if not would we like our bill… simple, dont need the chit chat, horseplay. friendly is nice but we know they are busy and we are there to enjoy each others company…. sorry if that is rude but that is how I feel about it.

Cameron Parsons: Its usually the food for me that determines if Ill be back. The staff is second, mostly because I havent really encountered too much bad service. Im also the type that I will reflect your service in the tip. I never tip below 10%, but if you only get 10% from me, then you know that you have areas to improve. If you get 20%+ then you know you were awesome, dont change a thing. If its big errors were talking about, then I will tell the server/manager. Like if my food isnt right, I will let you know and give the opportunity to make it right and if you do, then youll get a great tip for sure. If I tell you and you shrug and do nothing, then youll see that too. I appreciate the little touches too, like if you keep my beverage filled, even if its just water goes a long way with me. But if the foods consistently bad, then I wont be back regardless how awesome the staff is. I do try to give a couple strikes to a place and I take into consideration what I ordered. Like if you order a burger at a chinese place, you cant expect the worlds greatest burger, its not what they do. Sorry for the ramble.

Peter Gordon: Well put Cameron Parsons:. Perfect example we had a cheap breakfast today ($10.44) and left 2.50 for Tip because its not the waitresses fault they were running specials and they always are good – this is at Marys place on Richmond.

Teagan Morgan: You can always round up to $3. Thats what I usually do.

Peter Gordon: I rounded up to 2.50 thats almost 25% not Than what most would do

Peter Gordon: Oops more than what most would do

Teagan Morgan: Absolutely but if the service was good $3 wont break me.

Peter Gordon: Me either but we eat out too much anyway. I have quarters so its all good. I dont think she will complain

Alejandro Ramirez: Does not offend me I just thought you did not know you were. Sorry.

Alejandro Ramirez: Previous post was to Esther Flores:.

Esther Flores: NO PROBLEM MATT. HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND LOOK FORWARD TO MORE POSTS FROM YOUU.
