Thanks for the add to the group. I have a question regarding my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. It started making a squealing / grinding noise a couple of days ago. Theres also a slight burning rubber smell. It is most noticeable when I start it up. Right now its doesnt impact the way it drives. Ive looked online and got a number of possibilities. Im wondering if you might have an idea of what it is. Thank you.
Aleina Finney: Following mine does it too and I have a 2008 dodge grand caravan
Chris Kirby: Oh no. I just bought one off someone….. 2006…. smh lol
Aleina Finney: Lmao welcome to the club!
Steve Mullins: Where is it coming from?
Bill Thompson: probably a pump or altenator going bad the smell would be the belt
Josh Marxen: A failing AC compressor clutch is also common on these
Chris Kirby: This was my guess as well but I didnt want to guess wrong missing so much info.
Josh Marxen: Just had one go out on my pickup, and helped a truck driver with one glowing red hot so it was fresh in my mind.
Josh Marxen: Speaking of which when it cooled off on the semi we just unplugged it so she could keep running. Good way to check and confirm or eliminate it on your van Curt Bowman
